Federal Government measures
- The owner of a failed company closed due to COVID-19 shall receive €3226 if not holding family responsibilities and €2583 if this does not apply
- Social security taxes will be exempted for companies that have to close
- The customary ‘13th Month Payment’ (an extra month’s pay at the end of each year) will be paid by the federal government.
Other measures
- (Very) small businesses in certain sectors can ask for a compensation of €5000 if they are forced to close
- Compensation of €2500 for the self-employed and companies that have had to interrupt their activity substantially
- Mobilization of regional agencies (SOWALFIN, SOGEPA-Wallonie Santé Group, SRIW) via loans, guarantees, frozen reimbursements, etc.
- Governments offers guarantees for loans to companies.
Walloon Government measures
Tax
- Taxpayers will benefit from a suspension of the tax payment deadlines during the crisis
- Deadlines for claims against assessment will be frozen
- Negative administrative decisions will be frozen. However, all positive decisions will be applied.
- Moderation of current recovery procedures, payment plans will be facilitated
- All physical and correspondence audits are eliminated
- Administrative fines for the mileage tax will be moderated.
- Period of 2 years for partial reimbursement of registration duties in case of resale suspended as from 18 March 2020
- Automatic extension of the deadlines for filing and paying inheritance tax by 4 months
- Automatic extension of the deadlines for filing and paying registration duties (excluding notary acts) by (maximum) 4 months
Brussels
- Support to restaurants and bars: €3000
- Hotels:
- €20,000 for a hotel with up to 18 rooms
- With more than 18 rooms €1,100 per room with a max of €200k
- Events sector: €3k to €9k depending on activities.
- Cultural and creative activities: up to €4k, with a range of conditions.
- Social sector + services (housekeeping) can get €4000 support.
- Some general support for every company includes loans/reduction of taxes
Flemish Government measures
- Companies who saw their turnover reduced by 60% during the lockdown period will receive 10% of their usual turnover in support. (Minimum of €1000)
