Data Subject Request

With the GDPR, you have a transparent understanding of your personal data and how it is used. As part of Creditsafe's commitment to open and transparent data processing, we have made the following processes available to you.

1 - Submit a GDPR application::

-          E-mail us at gdpr@creditsafe.be

-          Indicate "GDPR request" in the subject and in the email.

Before we can provide you with further assistance, we need some information from you in order to confirm who you are. Please include these details in the email of your "GDPR request".

  • Company name of the applicant
  • Full name of applicant
  • Business e-mail address of applicant
  • Business telephone number of applicant
  • Customer reference number
  • Proof of identification and address
(allowing us to verify your identity)

Once we have this information, the following options are available:

- Subject Access Requests (SAR)

In a 'SAR' request, you can review all the information we have about you and make any necessary changes to that information (if justified).

- Request for rectification:

If you believe that the information in the Creditsafe database is inaccurate or incomplete, please provide details of what the inaccurate data is and evidence to support any correction.

* Creditsafe is obliged to reply within 30 days of submitting the request, but this period may be extended by two months if the request for rectification is complex.

** Please note that some of the data Creditsafe holds comes from public and/or governmental sources and that it may be necessary to direct your request to that external body in order to make a correction.

- Right of deletion (right to be forgotten):

Under GDPR, you have the right to request that your personal data be deleted, however, this does not provide an absolute "right to be deleted".

If you believe you have legitimate reasons to request "Right of Deletion", you have the opportunity to request this by providing as much supporting evidence as possible to Creditsafe. Individuals have the right to suppress or block the processing of personal data. This right can be exercised where:

  • You dispute the accuracy of the personal data
  • You consider that there are justified reasons for restricting the processing.
  • The retained information is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.

If you wish to suppress or block personal data, please provide as much information as possible (including evidence or screenshots of where you believe the data should be kept and in particular where you believe it should be suppressed/deleted).

2 - Unsubscribe from Creditsafe marketing purposes:

If you use several business e-mail addresses, please inform info@creditsafe.be that you no longer wish to receive communications from these e-mail addresses.

* Please note that you clearly state in the email:  "I do not wish to receive any more communications". This is the only way to ensure that you will no longer receive e-mail advertisements from Creditsafe as a marketer.

- E-mail Sent from Creditsafe as a "marketer":

Creditsafe also markets some of its own products and services by e-mail. When Creditsafe is the marketer, we are always identified as such in the content of the mailing. Any e-mail received from Creditsafe will contain the appropriate unsubscribe instructions.

If you wish to unsubscribe from Creditsafe's email marketing communications, please send an email to the email address info@creditsafe.be or click on the 'opt-out link' in each communication, described as "unsubscribe? Click Here" in the footer of each marketing email.

- Creditsafe's email database

Creditsafe maintains a database of permission-based email addresses which Creditsafe uses to keep you informed about various topics by email (such as offers, new insights, tips & tricks, updates, etc.). If you wish to unsubscribe from these marketing communications, please send an email to info@creditsafe.be from the email address you wish to unsubscribe from.

If you unsubscribe from the Creditsafe email database, you may continue to receive emails from other Creditsafe partners to which you initially subscribed. You must also unsubscribe from the partner if you no longer wish to communicate with a Creditsafe-nominator.

* Please make sure that you clearly state in the email: "I do not wish to receive any more communications". This is the only way to ensure that you will no longer receive e-mails from Creditsafe as a marketer.

Finally, Creditsafe Belgium does NOT sell email data to third parties.

- Elimination of direct mail (Postal Communciations):

As a responsible company, we respect your choice not to receive direct mail advertising from us. You may contact Creditsafe directly to opt out of receiving mail marketing promotions. Turning off direct mail marketing from Creditsafe will only stop the mailings.

* Please note that you may continue to receive direct mail as advertisers often work with multiple data providers.

You can reach us via info@creditsafe.be or by registered mail to:

Creditsafe Belgium NV
Steenweg Op Zellik 12
1082 Brussels - Belgium

* As already mentioned, please be as complete as possible if you wish to unsubscribe. We need some information from you to confirm who you are (your full name, company name, postal address, full telephone number and business e-mail address). Please include these details in your application.

** Please indicate clearly that you want to be removed. If you move or change your name, you must unsubscribe again with your new address or name. When you unsubscribe from Creditsafe, your data will not be removed from the Creditsafe marketing database. Creditsafe will mark your data as "Do not mail" for a period of 5 years. If Creditsafe were to completely remove your data, we would not know your preferences.

- Elimination of Telemarketing:

Responsible marketing companies respect your choice not to receive telemarketing calls. Creditsafe takes into account and is fully compliant with the "Do-Not-Call-Me-List".

* Exception: unless the company or person in question indicates (in writing) that they may be contacted or if a request is made for more information about Creditsafe's services.

You can also contact Creditsafe directly to be suppressed from the Creditsafe telemarketing lists. By disabling Creditsafe telemarketing, the telemarketing using the Creditsafe marketing data will stop.

You may continue to receive telemarketing calls as advertisers often work with multiple data providers. You may contact Creditsafe by sending your full name (including any name changes), mailing address, full telephone number (+ area code) and e-mail address to info@creditsafe.be or to the postal address below:
